# NTL Group

> NTL Group (Nordic Timber Labs) is a European specialist in industrial fire-retardant treatment of timber and wood-based panels. Two production plants - Åmål, Sweden and Lahti, Finland - supply treated timber to architects, contractors, facade suppliers and timber manufacturers across Europe. Backed by Sareq AB.

NTL Group treats wood by vacuum-pressure impregnation. Treated products are documented for reaction to fire according to EN 13501-1 (up to Euroclass B-s1,d0, depending on the tested wood species, profile and configuration) and, for facade systems, SP Fire 105. Production is subject to third-party certification (AVCP system 1, notified body) with a Certificate of Constancy of Performance and a Declaration of Performance (DoP).

## Products

NTL Group offers two documented treatment routes. They complement each other; one does not replace the other.

- [SaferWood FP-X](https://www.ntl.se/products/saferwood-fp-x): Advanced polymeric fire protection for demanding exterior timber, usable without a coating. Durability of reaction-to-fire performance certified to EN 16755, class EXT (Method B), retaining Euroclass B in SBI testing (EN 13823) before and after accelerated weathering, supported by 10-year natural weathering data. Technology from Chemco Inc. (USA), where it is sold as SaferWood, with continuous industrial fire-retardant treatment since 1981. NTL is the exclusive European partner for Chemco and SaferWood. Typical uses: facade cladding and shingles in thermally modified pine or spruce, Nordic spruce and Western Red Cedar, natural or coated.
- [Koppers FlamePro](https://www.ntl.se/products/ntl-flamepro): Fire-retardant treatment for interior timber and wood-based panels, and for exterior products protected by a documented coating system. Based on Koppers FlamePRO technology. Typical uses: birch and spruce plywood wall and ceiling panels, oak battens, mouldings, joinery, thermally modified interior cladding, and painted facade boards. Documented SP Fire 105 facade systems include coating solutions with Teknos Teknoclad and Tikkurila Pinja Protect GM; SP Fire 105 applies to the complete tested facade build-up, not the timber alone.

## How ordering works

Enquiry and project review, quotation, material delivery to the plant, vacuum-pressure treatment (approx. 2-3 hours per cycle), controlled drying (approx. 10 days), optional coating, quality control and documentation, delivery. Typical total delivery time is approximately 4 weeks from confirmed order and receipt of material. Every order comes with a Certificate of Constancy of Performance, project-specific documentation and traceability, plus handling and maintenance guidance.
